The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association is a
national federation of 39 independent, community-based and locally operated
Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that collectively provide healthcare
coverage for more than 100 million individuals - one-in-three Americans.
Pennsylvania has five independent licensee's of the Blue Cross and Blue
Shield Association. Keystone Health Plan and a number of for-profit
subsidiary health insurers are owned and operated by Independent Licensee's
of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. What is available to you and
your family depends on where you live in Pennsylvania and depends on whether

Central
Pennsylvania and Lehigh Valley
The Central
PA and Lehigh Valley service area includes: Adams, Berks, Centre
(Eastern)*, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Lancaster,
Lebanon, Lehigh, Juniata, Mifflin, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland,
Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder, Union, and York Counties.
Northeastern Pennsylvania
The Northeastern Pennsylvania service
area includes: Bradford, Carbon, Clinton, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming,
Monroe, Pike, Potter, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming Counties.
Southeastern Pennsylvania
The Southeastern Pennsylvania service area includes:
Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
Western Pennsylvania
The Western PA service area includes: Allegheny, Armstrong,
Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Centre (Western)*, Clarion, Clearfield,
Crawford, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana,
Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, McKean, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren,
Washington, and Westmoreland Counties.
*Independent Licensee's of the BCBS
Association have separated the servicing of Centre County. You are
considered by Independent Licensee's a resident of the Western Pennsylvania
service area if you reside in zip codes 16677, 16686, 16829, 16845, 16859,
16865, 16866, 16874, 16877. All other areas of Centre County are considered
Central Pennsylvania.
